WHAT IS ALL4CLIMATE?
All4Climate – Italy 2021 encompasses the full lineup of live-streamed climate events that took place in Italy this year. The goal of the program was simple: to make 2021 a landmark year for climate ambition. Launched by the Italian Ministry for Ecological Transition in collaboration with the World Bank Group’s Connect4Climate and with the participation of the Lombardy Region and the Municipality of Milan, All4Climate fostered proactive dialogue on the challenges of the climate crisis, providing a unique opportunity for climate champions around the world to contribute directly to this September’s Pre-COP meetings in Milan as well as November’s COP26, hosted by the UK in partnership with Italy.

PRE-COP26, MILAN, ITALY
Every UN Conference of the Parties (COP) is preceded by a preparatory meeting held about a month before, called the Pre-COP. The purpose of this meeting is to provide a select group of countries with an informal setting in which to discuss potential political roadblocks to ramping up climate ambition and to form strategies for overcoming those challenges come the COP26 negotiations. Pre-COP26 was the final official ministerial meeting ahead of COP26, the UN climate summit which will be hosted in Glasgow in November 2021 under the presidency of the UK, in partnership with Italy.
The Pre-COP was hosted by Italy in Milan from 30 September to 2 October 2021. In attendance were delegations from 40+ countries, representatives of the UN Framework Convention on Climate Change Secretariat, the chairs of the Subsidiary Bodies of the Convention, and a number of stakeholders with key roles in the fight against climate change and the transition to sustainable development.
YOUTH4CLIMATE: DRIVING AMBITION
Youth4Climate: Driving Ambition was a landmark youth event held in Milan, Italy just prior to Pre-COP26. Some 400 young people aged between 15 and 29, two each from nearly all of the 197 member-countries of the UN Framework Convention on Climate Change, met in Milan from 28 to 30 September 2021 to participate in fast-paced working groups with other #Youth4Climate champions and develop concrete proposals to present to the Ministers attending the Pre-COP and COP26.
#YOUTH4CLIMATELIVE SERIES
The #Youth4ClimateLive Series, hosted by the Italian Ministry for Ecological Transition in collaboration with the World Bank Group’s Connect4Climate and the Office of the UN Secretary-General’s Envoy on Youth, sought to build momentum on climate action ahead of the Driving Ambition event and Pre-COP26 in Italy. Nine episodes were streamed live to a global audience of over 10,000 young people between June 2020 and February 2021, themed around topics such as Sustainable Recovery, Nature-Based Solutions, and Youth Action. Each session brought together a diverse group of unstoppable youth at the forefront of creative climate action for intergenerational and interactive conversations with policy makers and experts.
