All4Climate – Italy 2021 encompasses the full lineup of climate events taking place in Italy this year. Its goal is simple: to make 2021 a landmark year for climate ambition. Launched by the Italian Ministry for Ecological Transition in collaboration with the World Bank Group’s Connect4Climate and with the participation of the Lombardy Region and the Municipality of Milan, All4Climate aims to foster proactive dialogue on the challenges of the climate crisis and deliver on the objectives of the Paris Agreement.

All4Climate provides a unique opportunity for climate champions around the world to contribute directly to this September’s Pre-COP meetings in Milan as well as November’s COP26, hosted by the UK in partnership with Italy: You can propose an event to become part of the official All4Climate – Italy 2021 program! It can be a virtual, in-person or hybrid event hosted anywhere in Italy throughout 2021 and must be plastic-free and compliant with COVID-19 safety regulations. Email your Submission Forms to All4ClimateItaly2021@minambiente.it by September 10, 2021. You will be alerted within three weeks of your submission as to whether or not your proposal has been selected.

All4Climate Pre Conference

Pre-COP26 is the final official ministerial meeting ahead of COP26, the UN climate summit which will be hosted in Glasgow in November 2021 under the presidency of the UK, in partnership with Italy. Every UN Conference of the Parties (COP) is preceded by a preparatory meeting held about a month before, called the Pre-COP. The purpose of this meeting is to provide a select group of countries with an informal setting in which to discuss potential political roadblocks to ramping up climate ambition and to establish strategies for overcoming those challenges come the COP26 negotiations.

The Pre-COP will be hosted by Italy in Milan from 30 September to 2 October 2021. In attendance will be delegations from 40+ countries, representatives of the UN Framework Convention on Climate Change Secretariat, the chairs of the Subsidiary Bodies of the Convention, and a number of stakeholders who play a key role in the fight against climate change or in the transition to sustainable development. Follow Pre-COP26 on Twitter to get all the latest news!

Youth4Climate: Driving Ambition is a landmark youth event that will be held in Milan, Italy just prior to Pre-COP26. Some 400 young people aged between 15 and 29, two each from the 197 member-countries of the UN Framework Convention on Climate Change, will meet in Milan from 28 to 30 September 2021 to participate in fast-paced working groups with other #Youth4Climate champions and develop concrete proposals that will be presented to the Ministers attending the Pre-COP and COP26.

Although applications to attend Youth4Climate: Driving Ambition closed on 28 February, young people from around the world can still enter the #SumItUp competition for a chance to earn a spot at the Milan event. All you have to do by the 31 March deadline is creatively sum up your top takeaways from any of the nine episodes in the #Youth4ClimateLive Series, presenting your ideas via either an original infographic or one-minute video.
